ANZAC Service 2012
I've been talking to Spinner and since we have a fair few Australians and New Zealanders on this forum and we have decided there will be an ANZAC service. I know this a little late but don't complain.
So I will invite a few people up to speak. Then we will have the ode, the Last Post and then a minute silence as well. So now let the service begin.
Welcome to this service here at Sports R Us. Today we will be honouring and remembering the ANZACs who fought in Gallipoli and the Western Front. The Gallipoli landing was bloody and violent and silly. But we ANZACs tried to fight through the heavy gun-fire but it didn't make a different. Turks were shooting left right and centre, so it would have been pretty hard to fight through. Many dads, brothers and sons didn't return home. The few who returned home had known they'd lost their mates. It was horrific but they had been brave to go through that heavy gun-fire. The Western Front was also horrific and tens of thousands losing their lives when they the battled the Germans. The ANZACs did however come out victorious and was one of the biggest and most important victories. If Australia didn't win that war, then it would have left the gates open for the Germans to invade Paris. So as we now know the ANZACs will be remembered for a long time to come.
Lest we forget.
Now I invite Mr. Doggy to give a speech,
