Do you think helping people commit suicide (assisted suicide) should be made legal. I think this is issue that we should talk about.

I believe that people should not commit suicide, no matter what. There is always help out there for those who need it.

What about the people who really really want to die?

They might think there is no one that cares about them but they don't consider the people they know. In some cases people have nothing in life, but I still don't agree with it.

I think in certain circumstances it is understandable when people do commit suicide. Such as a disabled person who wants to die.

Yer, but there is a difference Suicide is considered as Indictable Offence and like murder is considered a crime. Like if you sign a suicide pact and you pull out you are in the slammer for twenty because it counts as murder. Suicide is extreme and most people who commit suicide as Hit said have underlying problems and killing themselves will not help and helping them do it is even worse in books.

But, with the disabled people you can come to conclusion about suicide maybe it is better, well in some cases it is and that is the debate about Euthanasia.

This is the "legal killing" of someone by medical trained people to stop them suffering in pain or mental state in which is useless. In form turning off life support is euthanasia, but it is quite interesting topic and euthanasia is something in our generation that we are going to encounter.

Ah, the problem with assisted suicide is that it's easy enough for people to make murders look like A/S.

How are we going to regulate the difference between Murder and A/S. Even a signed suicide note can be made under duress.

If you're going to crack down on it you need to penalise more than that, but if people want to die they should have the freedom to die, regardless of their family's wishes it is THEIR decision, and while they may go to 'Hell' they are better of out it if that's their mindset, it's a Lord of The Flies world.

Some people can't cope with life, look at Kurt Cobain (doesn't matter if you believe in the murder conspiracy) he sounded he just couldn't bear to live.

He was on drugs, he had issues that could be dealt with.
No-one should help anyone with suicide. Suicide is a selfish act that someone does and leaves everyone else with the pain and guilt to deal with.
Life has it's ups and downs, you only get one life, so make the most of it. One week can be the worst week ever and the next week can be the best.
Always try and talk to someone you trust if something is bothering you, there IS always another way around a situation.
Never get sucked in by bullying from others, yes people can say hurtful things, but they do that to try and get back at people they have an issue with. Ignoring their comments pisses them off as they want a reaction from you. Report the bullies and get them in trouble. Never believe anything a bully tells you. Never lose sleep over a bullies comments, they won't be losing sleep. Don't waste your time and energy on something a bully says, because they aren't worth it. You know in yourself your better than them.

Does it matter if it's legal or illegal? It's not like your going to prison if you kill yourself. lol

Oh okay, now that I've read the thread. :P

You're basically killing the guy, so it's murder.

Why would you help someone kill themselves? It's easy enough, they could do it themselves. :L
Oh and by the way, Hi guys, I'm back.

Assisted suicide, should be legal, only if its dead serious though.

Like I read an article, there was a man, completely paralyzed, neck down. He was asking, if the doctors could kill him, (i don't remember how) he was tired of being in that condition for years.

In those cases, it would be OK.
