Company Fantasy Role Play Game

So after a brief chat box discussion I have decided to create a roll playing company game, where you build your company over a three week period, at the start of each round myself (Spinner) will give you situation and how you act upon it will decide your net profit and at the end affect upon how your company will sell. Your company will also be affected by the share market and how it’s is sector preforming in the real world, will affect your company's net profit. Either pushing it down or rising it.

Your company will also be affected by the perks you chose, for example someone who pushes there workers hard will experience short rises in net profit why workers who are not pushed as hard will give gradual results. The final thing that will affect your company will be the need for the object you are producing or servicing, for example transport companies will experience better outcomes then what a spaceship building company will experience.

Now to the perks, these help you company preform, you may chose 4 perks for the whole game.

Quick hands: your company is a quick producer of goods, but quality may lack, causing buyers to look elsewhere if they have received poor goods.

Money Mouth: the CEO before you has established many contacts with byers that want goods from your company, therefore creating business, either if the market is up or down

Super Worker: the workers in your factories are highly skilled trade’s people and make high quality goods, but take a long time, which some customs believe is not worth it.

Tools of The Trade: your equipment at your factories is the best money can buy, making for high quality goods, even if you staff are poor workers.

Advertising Blitz: Offers you have ultimate adverting.

New Product: Your Company is just about to release a new product and the hype around it is huge, so business for your other products is high.

A Team: You have a small group of workers that are highly skilled and efficient saving on labour costs.

Stock Me: High-street stores stock your produces either if they are not selling.

Truck Me: A large transport fleet means that transportation times are cut in half, meaning a better service quality.

Endorsements, Endorsements: your company is endorsed by celebrity meaning sales are up.

So I thought I would give you a quick demo, on how the role works.

So here is the situation that I give, determined by your perks and previous responses.

Example Company (10)

The example company is doing is well, with ultimate adverting it's product, shoes are flying of the shelf, but some customs have questioned the companies quality of goods after reports of the shoes catching alight when close to fire. The manger requests the CEO to do something about it. The goods are stocked in High - Street stores are therefore generating a profit no matter what the market is doing, although the companies exposure is only to the shoppers of these store. With their large transport fleet the companies does well to transport goods to and from the store in a quick time period and the company manger is asking if he can buy a few more vans to do this even faster.

Example Company CEO Respond (Your Role Play on the Situation)

After consulting figures we at Example Company have decided to improve staff training and have opened a safety hotline, to deal with faulty shoes. The company has decided to attempt to launch the shoes in general stores in next coming months. The company is pleased with advertising and will continue the deal it has with advertising company. I believe our transport is fine and therefore, the company will not buy any more vehicles.

I inform you of your net profit up $ 10,000. The better and more in depth you solve the problems in your business, the better your company will go.

Role Play 1 First Turn

8 Ball Bats Inc.

After a long Christmas break, Devon Mace, once again opens up his small factory, located in Wellington New Zealand. Over the Christmas the break he has stock piled many orders that must be filed over the next two weeks, placing a large strain on his workforce. But Devon's factory has a small group of specialist employs with top quality equipment to fulfil the orders. Devon's Manager has explained that there has been a problem sourcing the correct wood for bats and Devon must do something about it, to keep the orders running on time. 8 Ball Bats, markets towards seniour players and Devon’s Manager believes that the junior cricket equipment market could be profitable, but is not sure how to enter the market. 8 Ball Bats only has one store that stocks their products and this has been a major a draw back for sales. You manager believes that you must look at some changes to your business if you wish to survive.

Sydney's Kitchens

A firm, that has been around for a life time and offers quality kitchen goods. They are stocked in many of the high street stores and much interested surrounds the new release 876 Oven, the oven to end all you cooking problem. Sydney's workforce is full of high class trades people who are highly skilled in making and servicing cooking equipment. All products are made by hand meaning that product take a long time to be built, turning a lot of customers away from the brand. Your manager believes that for the business to survive you must attempt to speed to up production. With a large cash flow the business is financial safe and your accountant believes, a store open to the public or another factory could be worth buying. Finally a local restaurant chain has decided to open some stores in the local area and are searching for commercial equipment, this may be you big chance to break into the commercial cooking world.

Fuji's Technology

The family run business has many contacts throughout the world. They build computers through to DVD Players with their most popular product being the 345 Music Player, your manger believes you should push your company away from laptops and towards the world of mobile devices (phones & MP'3). You have large transport network which helps keep courier cost down. To stay cheap you import a lot of you components from overseas, these products although cheap are usually faulty and yearly, it costs you large sums of money to re order these parts. Your manager believes sourcing materials from Australian counterparts is more viable then importing them. Many High - Street stores once stocked your products, but due to, too many faulty units they have cancelled your brand, but are willing to give you another go, if you fix the problems with your units.

Cunning Linguists

This black-market business is feeling the pitch as most the authorities aim to crackdown on counterfeit goods. Your manger and best friend advises you to make your company public and licensed to avoid problems with the law. High street store would like to stock your product but they cannot due to the legal problems. You large fleet vehicles is good for transporting the ipads around. You rent these out, for a business on the side to your illegal activates.

Read the examples and make your discussion, follow what your manger has said as the tips will push you in the right direction. You have two days.

I reckon we should change to electronics, rather than just computers. The company will be moving forward and hopefully our money will rise higher.

So what about all your faulty units and the high street stores.

I have also decided to come up with a product.

The Sydney Kitchens company shall now unveil it's newest appliance, the SuperFridge.
It is one great appliance. You can see what is in your fridge without opening it with a screen on the door of both the freezer and normal fridge doors. You can also select what you want. It gives you info on the product. It has a medium size normal fridge and a average sized freezer. The fridge is also spacy and can is a little lighter then a fridge.

After a quick phone call and some wheeling and dealing an agreement is reached for 8 Ball Bats to contact JS Wright & Sons Orchards to supply them top quality woods for their bats. This is gone down well with most players and sales are up 2 fold. During the week the factory also underwent changes to some of the equipment so the factory cans now supply junior bats and equipment. The buyout of Areo Sport's has made the brand even larger, making for greater popularly and is liked most players. The New Zealand Cricket Board has contacted 8 Ball Bats to manufacture cricket balls for the upcoming domestic season. Finally, the company has experienced dispatch problems lately, due to the computer system crashing and the dispatch is being done by hand by hand. Your company believes this must be fixed right away.

With a new factory open, products are being built quicker and customers are once happy. With the release of the Superfridge the company’s profit has increased quickly and your manger believes that the company should brunch out and build their own chain of factory direct stores. Your manger also believes that free installation or small fee should be charged for your company to install the product for the user. The company has been received well by the community and the local high school has offered you some trannies, your manger believes that you should accept the offer; the trannies are free and you gain a good image in front of the public. Your fleet of vans, are now aging and some are struggling to start, your manger believes that buying some new vans could update the fleet.

RAWR Co.

With a strong share market rise, Rawr is gaining better than average sales, the company offers many different vehicles for all tastes, but the manger believes the company should release either a diesel or battery power engine in some of their vehicles, as petrol is now very expensive, and this would expose the company to a greater market. The company has many contracts with fleet buyer and this helps with the cash flow. With global advertising many people would like a Rawr car, but due to the lack dealers, these vehicles are hard to buy. Your manger believes the only way to stop this is to set up your own dealerships or build sales through the internet or wholesale warehouses that are open to the public. With high quality tools the cars are made to high quality standards, but sometimes the quality slips due to the average quality of the materials used. Overall the business is doing well.

Jersey Warehouse

Jersey Warehouse is endorsed by NRL and AFL players as well as some Big Bash League Cricketers, this helps draw the crowds to their small warehouse located in the Sydney CBD. Your manager believes that we must grow and build more stores or warehouses. They offer customs jerseys for many different sports and the advertising has helped in the promotion of the company. Jersey Warehouse is struggling to get enough supplies for the jerseys, so your manger has requested that you get in touch with your supplies and or source new materials from new suppliers. The NRL team the Sydney Roster's has requested that you make them a set of jerseys for the upcoming season and in return you will be displayed as a major sponsor and be able to sell jersey replicas to the loving fans. Your manager believes that you should the take the offer. Finally the computer system has crashed and needs repairing, your manger believes this could be the best time to upgrade your systems, instead of just getting a repair.

mgt98's Company

After employing some brighter staff form a local computer tafe class, your products have already started to become better, but more improvement is needed. The high street stores stock you products again. Apple has just released the IPhone 5 and your sales have gone down slightly, you must release a new product soon or consider moving back to the safe computer market.

Cunning linguists

The police where coming and you knew it. They raided everything and your business has now been shut down. Due to your fantastic lawyer you have be released on a copyright charge and given 300 hours of community service and large fine. You must start your business again, but make it legal, says your manger. You still have heaps of funds, so get to it.

Without further ado, Mr Fuji announced a new product that will hit the streets on Tuesday, but he hasn't revealed any other details.

I will accept this trainees into my workforce. I'll also get these new vans and charge just $20 for people to have their product installed by a worker.
